JaVale McGee Rumors: Could The Portland Trail Blazers Be A Player For McGee?

Big men have been the story of the NBA offseason so far, from Dwight Howard to Roy Hibbert to Omer Asik. Curiously, all has mostly been quiet on the JaVale McGee front, but that will soon change with the official opening of the NBA free agency period. The Nuggets have interest in bringing McGee back on a long-term deal, and though all signs point them to doing so, a few teams that are on the outside looking in of the big man carousel may try and thwart those efforts.

Chief among them, according to Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post, may be the Portland Trail Blazers, whose offer sheet agreement with Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert is going to be matched. Portland drafted center Meyers Leonard in the 2012 NBA Draft, but he's considered to be a bit of a project, and the team is looking to beef up its frontline behind All-Star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge.
