2012 NBA Mock Draft: Dion Waiters Lands With Nuggets In SB Nation Mock

The 2012 NBA Draft Combine in Chicago is currently underway and the measurements will be important for plenty of prospects, but Tom Ziller of SB Nation put together a 2012 NBA Mock Draft right before the combine so you can take a look at the landscape before a few stopwatches and tape measures change things. Anthony Davis predictably flies off the board at No. 1 to the New Orleans Hornets, but things quickly get interesting. Ziller has the Bobcats taking Michael Kidd-Gilchrist at No. 2 and the Wizards snatching Bradley Beal at No. 3, and after the lottery there is a big run on guards.

The Denver Nuggets hold the No. 20 overall pick and could use another guard in the rotation if Andre Miller leaves, but Jeremy Lamb, Terrence Ross, Austin Rivers and Tony Wroten are all off the board. Luckily, Syracuse combo guard and sixth-man Dion Waiters is there for the Nuggets to grab. It could be another steal for Denver to follow up their selection of Kenneth Faried last season, as Waiters is rated the eight-best prospect in the draft by ESPN's Chad Ford as has drawn at least one comparison to Dwyane Wade.
