2012 NBA Mock Draft: Damian Lillard Goes No. 6 To Portland In SI.com's Latest

Weber State point guard Damian Lillard goes to the Portland Trail Blazers with the No. 6 overall pick in the latest mock draft from SI.com's Sam Amick. We're just one day before the draft, and a player that wasn't even considered for the lottery at one point could end up going with a single-digit pick:

Lillard would address a big need at point guard, where Raymond Felton had a disappointing year and is now a free agent. But several teams I spoke with are starting to believe that Duke's Austin Rivers could be the guy here. His ability to play both guard positions is seen as a major plus.

Like Lillard, Rivers is a late-riser on draft boards that has major appeal to teams as a potentially effective backcourt scorer. Lillard is considered more of a traditional point guard than Rivers, but from Amick's comment it appears that the Blazers believe Doc's son can run the offense for periods of time.
