Chauncey Billups Free Agency: Veteran Point Guard Won't Return To Denver Nuggets

Chauncey Billups is no stranger to playing basketball in the state of Colorado. The veteran point guard played his college ball in the '90s for the Colorado Buffaloes, and already has spent two NBA stints with the Denver Nuggets. Billups is set to become a free agent this summer, but recently told the Denver Post he can't see himself returning to the Nuggets.

"I'll say this: Me and (team president) Josh (Kroenke) are cool," Billups said. "I'm good with everybody. But I can't see me, basketball-wise, playing in Denver again. What do you want me to do? They traded me two times. Want me to give them a third opportunity? My years there were great. We accomplished some great things. And they are looking good. ... I had some great years there, and I'm always going to live there, but I can't see that."

Billups played for the Los Angeles Clippers last season until a torn Achilles ended his campaign. The 35-year old average 15 points, four assists and 2.5 rebounds per game last season, while posting a Player Efficiency Rating of 16.10.
