Ohio State big man Jared Sullinger has been listed as a top-10 prospect in the 2012 NBA Draft class ever since the NCAA season started, but on Monday news broke that teams are becoming concerned about an issue with his back. The medical red-flag reportedly emerged during testing at the NBA Combine, but Sullinger's father has said it has more to do with tight hamstrings and quads than the back, and that it shouldn't be considered a long-term problem.
However, the concerns over Sullinger's back have infiltrated Chad Ford's NBA Mock Draft 8.0 at ESPN, where the OSU star falls all the way to the Denver Nuggets at No. 20 overall.
As Ford notes, it all comes down to how teams evaluate the risk, but if he drops this low the Nuggets would certainly be ecstatic to get a player of his caliber in the back-end of the first-round. Draft Express has the 20-year-old big man ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the entire draft on their big board (although it was last updated on May 25).
