2012 NBA Mock Draft: Nuggets Select Marquis Teague In SI.com's Latest

The Denver Nuggets are projected to select Kentucky point guard Marquis Teague with the 20th overall pick in the latest mock draft from Sports Illustrated's Sam Amick. This is just the latest mock to tie Denver to Teague, who is considered one of the top point guard prospects in the draft class.

As good as the point guard combo of Ty Lawson and Andre Miller was for the Nuggets, Miller is a free agent and may not be back. I had Washington point guard Tony Wroten here before, but I'm told that the Nuggets have their eyes on the younger brother of Hawks point guard Jeff Teague. Marquis Teague doesn't have the aggressive scoring mentality of Wroten, but he is a speedy floor leader who would be comfortable playing at Denver's typically fast pace.

As the starting point guard for national champion Kentucky, Teague averaged 10.0 PPG and 4.8 APG while shooting 41 percent from the floor. During the Wildcats' NCAA Tournament run, Teague put up 13.3 PPG, including a career-high 24 points against Iowa State.
