2012 NBA Draft Rumors: Raptors Pit Damian Lillard Against Kendall Marshall In Workouts

The Toronto Raptors hold the No. 8 pick in the 2012 NBA Draft, and on Tuesday they host several potential lottery prospects in workouts, including Kendall Marshall, Terrence Ross and Damian Lillard. The Raptors had been linked to Syracuse combo guard Dion Waiters in rumors about a draft-day promise, but team president and general manager Brian Colangelo denied any such promise from Toronto. Marshall and Lillard are in direct competition to become the first point guard off the draft board, and they bring very different skills to the table. Lillard is a scorer that produced with high efficiency at Weber State, while Marshall is a pass-first PG that led a loaded North Carolina team.

Both players competed in the NBA Draft Combine, but it was Damian Lillard who emerged as the "real star of the Draft Combine," according to ESPN's Chad Ford.
