Nuggets Vs. Lakers, Game 5 Final Score: Denver Holds On For 102-99 Victory

The Denver Nuggets head back to the Pepsi Center on Thursday with one more chance to keep things alive. They did that already on Tuesday with a 102-99 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, cutting the series deficit to 3-2.

The Nuggets held off Kobe Bryant and his late heroics when he wound up missing three shots after hitting several threes in a row to keep the Lakers within striking distance. Bryant wound up scoring 43 points in the loss.

Denver, on the other hand, received a big performance from JaVale McGee, who put down 21 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Andre Miller also joined him off the bench for 24 points and eight assists. Arron Afflalo led the team's starters with 19 points. Kenneth Faried narrowly missed a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing nine boards.

Will Denver be able to even the series when the final buzzer goes off on Thursday night?
