Nuggets Vs. Lakers Score Update: Nuggets Jump Out To Early First Quarter Lead, Up 30-14

The Denver Nuggets heard a lot about their stagnant offense as they waited to take on the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 3 of the teams' first round playoff duel, and in the first quarter on Friday night they looked determined to silence that chatter. Denver was scorching in the first quarter, putting up 30 points, seven of which came on the fast break.

The Nuggets were powered by Ty Lawson, who dropped in 13 points by himself on 5-7 shooting from the field and 4-4 shooting from the free throw line. Arron Afflalo chipped in with 8 points, six of which came on two three point bombs. Denver also worked the Lakers over on the glass, thanks in large part to Kenneth Faried, who yanked down six boards by himself in the first.

The Lakers were cold and sloppy to start the game, making only seven field goals while turning the ball over five times. Kobe Bryant was 3-5 from the field for six points, but only Pau Gasol and Devin Ebanks scored for Los Angeles, with four points on 2-5 shooting each. Andrew Bynum, who has decimated the Nuggets so far in this series, was 0-2 from the field and only snared two rebounds.
