2012 NBA All-Rookie Team: Colorado Alum Alec Burks Earns Honorable Mention

The NBA announced the 2012 NBA All-Rookie Teams on Tuesday, and while the Nuggets' Kenneth Faried was the only local player to earn a nod on the first or second team, Alec Burks -- a CU alum -- did earn a couple of votes. The All-Rookie teams are determined by votes from the league's 30 head coaches.

Burks, who now plays for the Utah Jazz, averaged 7.2 points and 2.2 rebounds per game this past season; he averaged about 16 minutes per game off the bench.

After a successful sophomore season at Colorado that saw him average 20.5 points per contest, he was taken with the 12th overall pick by Utah in the 2011 NBA Draft.
