The Denver Nuggets have began to pull away from the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 6, leading 90-68 through three quarters in a must-win game. With a possible Game 7 in the cards, the Nuggets have played like a team with its season on the brink, dominating the Lakers despite a gutty effort from Kobe Bryant.
After taking a 54-45 lead over the Lakers at halftime, the Nuggets really opened things up with a 36-point third quarter led by the stunning performance of Ty Lawson. Denver's point guard has 32 points on 13-of-18 shooting, five rebounds and six assists while orchestrating the offense with great efficiency, never turning the ball over.
Despite the stomach bug that kept him out of Thursday practice, Bryant continues to put up big numbers for L.A. Through three quarters, Kobe leads the Lakers with 29 points on 12-for-21 shooting, plus Andrew Bynum has 11 points, 16 rebounds and four blocks.
