2012 NBA Mock Draft: Damian Lillard Goes To Raptors At No. 8 In Latest Chad Ford Projection

The 2012 NBA mock draft season is about to heat up with the playoffs underway, but the final lottery slotting won't take place until May 30. However, Weber St. Wildcats point guard Damian Lillard is likely to go in the lottery, potentially as the first point guard off the board. ESPN Insider Chad Ford has Lillard off the board to the Toronto Raptors at No. 8 overall:

The Raptors need help at both the wing and the point. Lillard can play some of both. His versatility and ability to shoot and score the basketball should serve them well.

Lillard averaged 24.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists during the 2011-12 season, the former second in the nation only to Oakland guard Reggie Hamilton's 25.7 points.

North Carolina's Kendall Marshall could potentially give Lillard a battle to be the first point guard taken, but in this one Marshall lasts until the 10th overall pick to the New Orleans Hornets.
