The 2012 NBA Draft will have Weber St. Wildcats guard Damian Lillard up for grabs after he declared for the event on Tuesday afternoon, reports the Salt Lake Tribune:
"After the season, I took time to think about everything...after talking with coach Rahe and my family, I decided to declare myself eligible for the 2012 NBA Draft." [Lillard said.]
Lillard averaged 24.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists as a red-shirt junior during the 2011-12 season. He received a medical redshirt for the 2010-11 season after a foot injury prevented him from playing after his ninth game of the season.
Lillard is expected to be a lottery pick and is potentially the top point guard in the draft. The Utah Jazz have been projected in mock drafts to take Lillard, providing a young talent to pair with Alec Burks as the future of the back court for the team.
