The Denver Nuggets play the Los Angeles Clippers for the final time during the 2012 regular season on Wednesday night. The Nuggets are 1-2 against the Clippers this season, splitting the road games and losing the first home game of the season series. That 112-91 victory over the Clippers came on Feb. 2, setting off a lose month for the team. The Nuggets went on to lost the next five games and then 10 overall in the month.
But the Nuggets enter this contest with wins in four of their last five games, losing only to the Los Angeles Lakers last Friday. The current two-games winning streak has come about as a result of defeating the Houston Rockets in a home-and-home series on Sunday and Monday. That has propelled the Nuggets to the No. 6 spot in the Western Conference standings. Depending on how things turn out, a move to the No. 5 spot isn't totally out of the question.
The Clippers are on a four-game winning streak and have already locked down a spot in the playoffs, currently seeded at No. 4. Impressively, the first and fourth wins of this streak are home-and-home victories over the No. 2 seed Oklahoma City Thunder.
Game time/date: 7:00 p.m. MT, Wednesday, April 18, 2012
