Nuggets Vs. Hornets Score Update: Nuggets Up Six After First

A big first quarter from Arron Afflalo drove the Denver Nuggets to a 32-26 first quarter lead over the lowly New Orleans Hornets on Friday night in the Mile High City. Afflalo's 10 points led Denver, but he was helped by Nene, who added seven points in the first. But despite those two contributions, the Nuggets only led by six thanks to lackluster defense that allowed the Hornets to shoot 52% from the field and 40% from three.

The Nuggets bested the first number (with 65% shooting) and tied the second, but they missed three of seven free throws and were outworked on the glass eight to five. The Hornets were led by their backcourt of Jarrett Jack and Marco Belinelli, who both contributed eight points, with Belinelli hitting both threes for New Orleans.
