Nuggets Vs. Raptors Preview: Denver Heads North Of The Border

In the ever fluid Western Conference playoff race, the Denver Nuggets are currently holding onto the No. 8 seed by half a game over the Houston Rockets, and when you're fighting for the postseason, you can't lose games to the Toronto Raptors. That will be the mindset of George Karl's team as they continue their seven game road trip in the Queen City.

The road trip started poorly for Denver, with back-to-back losses to playoff competitors in the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves. But on Monday they routed the Derrick Rose-less Chicago Bulls 108-91, and with the Charlotte Bobcats waiting after the Raptors, the Nuggets are poised to put together a small winning streak, which would be the first time since the first week in March that they won three or more games in a row.

Wednesday night's game vs. the Raptors figures to be a wide open, high scoring affair, even by the Nuggets' standards. Denver's frontline will have to work to contain the rejuvenated Andrea Bargnani, but even though the Raptors' defense has improved under head coach Dwayne Casey, they're still giving up the 24th most points per game in the league.

Game date/time: Wednesday, March 28, 2012, 5:00 p.m. MT

Location: Air Canada Centre, Toronto, CA
