The Denver Nuggets currently find themselves as the first team out of the NBA Playoffs, which means the team would be picking in the lottery for the first time since 2003 (when they selected Carmelo Anthony with the No. 3 overall pick). The Nuggets aren't going to hit it big with the 14th overall pick, but Iowa St. Cyclones forward Royce White could potentially be a good pickup, as SB Nation's Tom Ziller projects in his not-so-serious 2012 NBA lottery projection:
14. DENVER NUGGETS: ROYCE WHITE
No, I had not heard
of Royce White before last week.
Uh, why do you ask?
White is actually in his third year since starting college, but he started with the Minnesota Gophers two years ago before transferring to Iowa State and sitting out the 2010-11 season. After one year of college basketball, White has elected to enter the NBA Draft following a 13.1-point, 9.2-rebound and 5.1-assist season. He's 6-feet-8 and 270 pounds.
It's still early to be projecting things for the Nuggets. Next week they might not even be in the lottery anymore.
