2012 NBA Draft: Damian Lillard To Leave Weber State Early, According To Report

The 2012 NBA Draft will soon have its likely top point guard available enter the event: Weber St. Wildcats junior Damian Lillard is close to declaring his early entry, according to CBS Sports' Gary Parrish. Lillard averaged 24.5 points, 5.1 rebounds and 4.0 assists during the 2011-12 season, leading the Wildcats to a second-place finish in the Big Sky regular season and conference tournament. The team lost in the second round of the CIT to Loyola Marymount.

Lillard is already projected as a lottery pick and the first point guard off the board, at least by ESPN's Chad Ford. This year's draft is not expected to have any elite guards on the level of Kyrie Irving, but Lillard has plenty of time to work his way up draft boards (as well as teams moving around in the lottery).
