Nuggets Vs. Pistons Preview: Shorthanded Nuggets Look To Get Back On Track

In trading Nene to the Washington Wizards, the Denver Nuggets front office has put a lot of faith in its young frontcourt, and they'll have a chance to start to make good on that gamble tonight in the Mile High City when the Nuggets host the Detroit Pistons. Detroit's record is far from sterling (though they have been over .500 since the beginning of February) but they do sport one of the best big men (of any age) in the NBA in center Greg Monroe.

Monroe, who many felt should have made this year's All Star team, is averaging 16 points and 10 rebounds for the Pistons. It's unknown whether or not Javale McGee will make his Nuggets debut tonight, but either way, Denver's rotating cast of big men will need to keep Monroe in check. It will be an especially solid measuring stick for Nuggets power forward Kenneth Faried, who actually has a higher player efficiency rating than Monroe, albeit in significantly less minutes.

Game date/time: Wednesday, March 21, 7:00 p.m. MT

Location: Pepsi Center, Denver, Colo.
