The Denver Nuggets started the second half of this abbreviated 2012 NBA season by defeating the Portland Trail Blazers, 104-95, on Wednesday night. The Nuggets are looking to recapture that fast start they got off to before injury after injury put the team in a tailspin. At the moment, Denver stands at 19-17.
The Nuggets had seven scorers in double digits on Wednesday, including a team-high 18 by Ty Lawson. Even little used rookie Jordan Hamilton chipped in 11 points (in only 14 minutes). The team, though, is expected to be without Nene, Danilo Gallinari and Rudy Fernandez yet again.
The Rockets are coming off a loss on Wednesday to the Utah Jazz, 104-83, ending the team's four-game winning streak. The team struggles to shoot 39 percent from the field and lost the rebound battle, 50-34. C.J. Miles put in 27 points for the Jazz, leading the way to victory.
