Hawks Vs. Nuggets Preview: Denver Faces Atlanta For Only Time This Season

The Denver Nuggets are in the midst of a nine-game home-stand at the moment, but the Pepsi Center hasn't been as kind to George Karl's team as they were hoping. Despite playing some underwhelming competition, Denver has opened the home-stand 2-2. Things are about to get a little tougher: the Atlanta Hawks come to Denver tonight, followed by contests against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Boston Celtics and Dallas Mavericks.

The Hawks enter sixth in the Eastern Conference at 24-17. Denver is 23-19 and sixth in the West. The bottom of the Western Conference is full of contenders and the Nuggets' postseason spot is far from secure.

The game will feature Denver's top-ranked offense vs. Atlanta's stellar defense. The Nuggets average a league-leading 103.8 points per game, while Atlanta allows just 91.6 points per game, fourth best in the NBA.

Game date/time: 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, 2012

Location: Pepsi Center

TV: Altitude
