Tom Ziller of SB Nation released his latest 2012 NBA Power Rankings on Monday, and the Denver Nuggets surprisingly snatched the No. 6 slot. Nene, Danilo Gallinari and Ty Lawson have been operating at less than 100 percent, but the team has still managed to cling to the sixth seed in the Western Conference with a 6-4 record in their last 10 games. Here is what Ziller had to say:
6. | Denver Nuggets | 23-19 | W: SAC, NO; L: CLE, MEM | Denver Stiffs |
Denver was the best of the mid-rung teams this week, as the losses suffered by the others (L.A. and L.A., Houston, Dallas) were far more embarrassing. Better news: Nene and Danilo Gallinari are back, and the latter should see his shooting form come back around. Let's just hope Ty Lawson's Sunday ankle injury isn't serious. |
The Chicago Bulls Miami Heat claimed the top two spots, but for a Western Conference squads slid in before the Nuggets. The Oklahoma City thunder, Memphis Grizzlies and San Antonio Spurs all separated Denver from the top of the pile, and did so in that exact order.
