Nuggets Vs. Mavericks Preview: Denver Looks To End Losing Skid

When the NBA shortened 2011-2012 season began, the Denver Nuggets were favored by many to finish at the top of the Western Conference thanks to their superior depth across the board. But now, after a rash of injuries, Denver is being tested with much of its depth wiped out, and the results, at least so far, haven't been pretty.

The Nuggets will look to snap a three game losing streak tonight vs. the Dallas Mavericks, a team that has also dropped three games in a row, most recently to the Cleveland Cavaliers. The small bit of good news for the Nuggets is that guard Arron Afflalo is expected to play in Wednesday night's game, according to Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post. Afflalo missed Monday night's game vs. the Houston Rockets with ankle and toe injuries, as did center Nene, who is said to be a game-time decision.

Hochman also reports that Rudy Fernandez, who strained his back vs. the Rockets, will play vs. Dallas, though there has been no update on when Corey Brewer, who is with his family after the death of his father, will be back with the team.
