Corey Brewer Leaves Denver Nuggets To Grieve Father's Death

The Denver Nuggets will be without bench player Corey Brewer as he will return home to attend to his father's funeral.

The Denver Nuggets were hit with sad news on Monday afternoon when it was announced that SF Corey Brewer was taking a leave of absence because of his father's sudden death, according to the team's official Twitter account:

Brewer is in his first season with the Nuggets, having played in 20 games from the bench. He is second on the team with a .444 three-point shooting percentage and second with an average of 2.2 steals per 36 minutes. The Tennessee native Brewer was originally drafted out of the University of Florida by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the first round in 2007.

Denver takes on the Houston Rockets on Monday night, the Nuggets looking to break their recent rough patch, winning only 1 of their last 5 games.
