The Denver Nuggets stuck with the Los Angeles Clippers for the first three quarters at the Staples Center on Wednesday night, but a Denver roster depleted by injuries simply couldn't hang with high-flying Lob City. The Nuggets fell to the Clippers 103-95 in a clash of Western Conference playoff contenders. The win lifts LA to 20-11, while the Nuggets fall to 18-16.
Los Angeles was led by its star point guard, Chris Paul. Paul finished with 35 points and nine assists, making 11 of his 16 shots. All-Star power forward Blake Griffin also put on a show, finishing with 27 points, 12 rebounds, a couple of highlight reel dunks. DeAndre Jordan added 10 points and 16 rebounds (nine offensive) for the Clippers in the win.
Denver was led by shooting guard Arron Afflalo, who finished with 20 points and six rebounds. Rookie forward Jordan Hamilton provided a spark off the bench for George Karl's crew, adding 18 points and seven rebounds in defeat.
