A win over any team as talented as the 2012 Los Angeles Clippers would be a reason for celebration, but if Denver can finish the job over LA tonight, it would really be something special. Playing without starters Nene and Ty Lawson as well as key reserves Rudy Fernandez and Chris Andersen, Denver takes a 54-52 lead into halftime at the Staples Center on Wednesday night.
Arron Afflalo and rookie Jordan Hamilton are carrying the Nuggets. Afflalo finishes the half with 12 points, three rebounds, and three assists, while Hamilton has 13 points in 13 minutes on 4-of-6 shooting. Fellow rookie Kenneth Faried and two-guard Corey Brewer each scored eight for Denver in the first half.
Star point guard Chris Paul has 13 points and three assists at the half to pace the Clippers. Starting center DeAndre Jordan already 12 rebounds (eight on the offensive end) and six points for the Clippers. Blake Griffin ends the first half with nine points.
