It may have seemed close to unfathomable two or so weeks ago, but the MInnesota Timberwolves (16-16) can even themselves with the Denver Nuggets (17-15) with a win in Denver on Monday night. The teams will enter the game going in opposite directions, with the Timberwolves having won three in a row and six of their last ten while the Nuggets have lost three in a row and eight of their last ten.
Two of Minnesota's wins haven't been over cupcakes either, as they spent the weekend trouncing the Houston Rockets and the Philadelphia 76ers. The Wolves have found a nucleus, with second year center Nikola Pekoovic teaming with the Kevin Love/Ricky Rubio duo to form a young, potent starting line up. Pekovic and Love especially have been impressive of late, and Denver big men Timofey Mozgov and Kenneth Faried will undoubtedly have their hands full trying to put the clamps on Minnesota's front line.
