The Denver Nuggets overcame a 13-point Los Angeles Clippers lead at the start of the second quarter to take a halftime lead, ultimately paving the way to a 112-91 blowout victory. Danilo Gallinari led the way with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists.
It was a strong game for the Nuggets from the field, sinking 53.4 percent of shots. The team connected on 57 percent of its three-point shots, which is quite a performance for a team that has been inconsistent from beyond the arc at times this season. Four of five starters put double-digit points on the board; Nene scored eight points Ty Lawson put in 18 points, dished the ball out for six assists and grabbed four rebounds.
For the Clippers, Blake Griffin had 16 points at halftime, but he finished with just 18. DeAndre Jordan pulled down nine boards to lead the team. However, the Nuggets outrebounded the Clippers, 41-28.
The Nuggets (15-7, 8-4 away) are back in Denver on Friday to host the Los Angeles Lakers for Game 2 of three straight games.
