The Denver Nuggets currently hold the No. 8 spot in the Western Conference playoffs, but just barely. The Portland Trail Blazers are just one-half of a game behind the Nuggets for that spot. That's also how the Northwest Division standings look. The Nuggets are still in second place there, trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder by 6.5 games. The Blazers are seven games behind the Thunder.
The Nuggets can chip a game off of the Thunder's lead on Sunday night when they visit Oklahoma City in an ESPN-televised game. After that game, the Nuggets will host the Minnesota Timberwolves before having a back-to-back with the Los Angeles Clippers on the road and the San Antonio Spurs at home.
Denver snapped a five-game losing streak last Saturday with a victory over the Indiana Pacers and then followed it with a second straight win, defeating the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday. However, things didn't work out for the Nuggets over the last two games, losing to the Dallas Mavericks and the Memphis Grizzlies.
