Nuggets Vs. Grizzlies Recap: Cunningham Tip-In Sinks Nuggets

Despite being dominated on the glass by the Memphis Grizzlies for most of the game, the Denver Nuggets were able to come all the way back from a 17 point halftime deficit to take a one point lead when Corey Brewer hit a jumper with 24 seconds left in the game. But Denver's inability to win the rebounding war would ultimately come back to bite them, as their comeback victory was snatched away when Memphis' Dante Cunningham tipped in a Rudy Gay miss with .2 seconds left on the clock.

The Nuggets were the superior team in both the third and fourth quarters, where they were led by Corey Brewer, who made five three pointers in third, hit the potential game-winning shot and finished with 26 points on 10-14 shooting. Denver also got a huge performance from back up PF Kenneth Faried, who chipped in with 18 points and 10 rebounds on 9-15 shooting but failed to block Cunningham out on the fatal tip.

For a Nuggets team that desperately needed a pick me up, tonight's game will likely be felt as a crushing defeat. They'll have a chance to redeem themselves on Sunday night when they continue their road trip vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder.
