Arron Afflalo scored 20 points and Ty Lawson added 17 points as the Denver Nuggets defeated the Phoenix Suns 109-92 at the Pepsi Center on Tuesday night. The wire-to-wire victory is the second straight win for the Nuggets, who improve to 17-12. Phoenix, who played without star guard Steve Nash, falls to 12-17.
Rookie forward Kenneth Faried made the most of a rare start, finishing with 13 points and nine rebounds (four offensive) in the win. Three Denver reserves also reached double-figures, led by a huge second half effort from Chris Andersen. The Birdman dropped 16 points, seven rebounds, and six blocks on the Suns. Al Harrington (12 points) and Rudy Fernandez (11 points) also played well off the bench.
Rookie Markieff Morris scored 21 to lead the Suns. Michael Redd added 20 points in the defeat for Phoenix.
