Nuggets Vs. Suns Score Update: Denver Leads 33-21 After One

Ty Lawson scored 10 points on 3-of-3 shooting to help get the Denver Nuggets out to a 33-21 lead after one quarter tonight against the Phoenix Suns. The Nuggets had lost five straight before defeating the Pacers on Saturday, and a strong first quarter hints that perhaps George Karl's crew is about to return to form.

Kenneth Faried and Corey Brewer each started tonight for Denver, and both went 2-of-4 from the field in the first quarter to finish with six points and four points, respectively. Guard Rudy Fernandez scored six points in just three minutes for the Nuggets by hitting a pair of three-pointers.

Center Marcin Gortat finished with six points and five rebounds to pace the Suns. Jared Dudley and Michael Redd each scored four for Phoenix.

Denver is 14-of-23 from the field (61 percent), while Phoenix is 7-of-23 (30 percent).
