The Denver Nuggets went into the half vs. the lowly New Orleans Hornets down 47-41 thanks mostly to a bout of horrendous shooting. The Nuggets shot 39% from the field in the first half, including 2-12 from three, which almost assuredly is the root of their current deficit.
Denver was carried in the first half by Danilo Gallinari, who dropped in 12 points on 5-11 shooting from the field. The Nuggets' second leading scorer after Gallinari was Aaron Aflalo, whose six points came on 3-7 shooting. The Hornets, without star SG Eric Gordon, were led by his replacement, Marco Belinelli, who tallied 12 points and four assists in the half.
As a team, the Hornets shot 5-8 from three in the half, with two of those threes coming from bench extraordinaire Greivis Vazquez.
