The Denver Nuggets had won six straight games before falling by four to the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday, and tonight George Karl's crew is in good position to get back to its winning ways. The Nuggets lead the Memphis Grizzlies 49-37 at halftime at the FedEx Forum. Memphis entered as losers of five straight.
Center Nene powered Denver throughout the first half, putting up 11 points, five rebounds, and three steals. Teammate Andre Miller came off the bench to score 10 points on 4-of-5 shooting and fellow reserve Corey Brewer added eight points and 3-of-4 shooting. Danilo Gallinari and Arron Afflalo each have six points.
Memphis is shooting a miserable 11-of-40 (27.5%) from the floor. Most of the Grizzlies offense has come from the foul line, where the team went 14-for-18. Marc Gasol leads the Griz with eight points on 2-of-6 shooting. Tony Allen and Rudy Gay (five rebounds) each have six points for Memphis.
