The Denver Nuggets are trailing 28-19 against the Philadelphia 76ers after the first period on Wednesday night. Philadelphia has been one of the hottest teams in the NBA so far, winning 10 of its first 13 games. The 76ers have also been dominant at home, going 6-0 at Wells Fargo Center thus far.
It wasn't a great offensive start for Denver, as they shot just 40 percent from the field in the first quarter. Philadelphia was much better shooting in the first quarter, making 52 percent of its shots, while committing just one turnover. Denver, on the other hand, turned the ball over three times.
Arron Afflalo led Denver in scoring with five points while Kostas Koufos has four points while making a rare start. Thaddeus Young, Jrue Holiday and Elton Brand lead Philadelphia in scoring with six points apiece.
