The Denver Nuggets have ridden a big second quarter to a 63-44 halftime lead over the Milwaukee Bucks on Tuesday night. They're hoping to hand the Bucks their first home loss of the season.
After a competitive first quarter ended with Denver leading 26-21, the Nuggets put up 37 points in the second quarter to stretch out the lead. After Milwaukee trimmed the lead to four points roughly a few minutes into the second period, Denver busted out a 19-4 run to get the lead back into safety.
It was a strong shooting half for the Nuggets as they knocked down 57 percent of their shots, including 6 of 11 from three-point range and 17 of 20 from the free throw line. Corey Brewer's been the leading scorer despite coming off the bench with 14 points on 5-for-6 shooting, while Nene has added 12 points and six rebounds. Milwaukee doesn't have a player scoring in double-figures after shooting 35 percent in the first half.
