The Denver Nuggets pulled away from the Miami Heat in the fourth quarter to come away with the huge 117-104 victory on Friday night's nationally-televised ESPN broadcast. Ty Lawson led the way for the Nuggets with 24 points and 9 assists.
The Nuggets shot 55 percent from the field, including 48 percent from beyond the arc. Arron Afflalo was the only starter to not score more than 10 points while Nene chipped in 17 points and 12 rebounds. Al Harrington and Rudy Fernandez each chipped in 15 points off the bench. They were a combined 6-of-11 from three-point territory.
LeBron James put in 35 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds for the Heat, but he also led the team with four turnovers. Coming off the bench, Udonis Haslem had a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds. More concerning, though, was Dwyane Wade leaving the game in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury. He finished with 12 points
The Nuggets improved to 8-4 while the Heat fell to 8-4 with a three-game losing streak. Denver will host the Utah Jazz on Sunday.
