Heat Vs. Nuggets Score: Denver Owns Middle Of Quarter, Finishes 1st Quarter With 9-Point Lead

The Miami Heat opened up Friday's game against the Denver Nuggets with a 6-0 run, but after that happened it all went in favor of the Nuggets. The Nuggets went on s 25-6 run at one point before ending the first quarter with a 30-21 lead.

Timofey Mozgov has gotten off to a fast start with six points, five rebounds and three blocks. Ty Lawson sat out Wednesday's game against the Nets, but he returned with four points and four assists in the opening quarter. The Nuggets have been streaky hitting three-pointers this season, but they are off to a hot start by sinking 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. Overall, the team has hit 56.5 percent of its shots.

The Heat saw LeBron James and Dwayne Wade scored the team's first 12 points, but after that James was the only one of the two to add more points, finishing the quarter with eight. The team is shooting just 7-of-24, but it has made 7-of-9 from the free throw line.
