The Denver Nuggets have dropped their last two games, but things are looking good so far tonight against the New Jersey Nets. Denver leads 35-28 after the first quarter thanks to some ultra hot shooting. The Nuggets finished the opening period 11-for-16 from the field, good for a 68.8 percent. Three-point shooting has kept the Nets alive. as New Jersey is 5-for-7 from beyond the arc.
Forward Danilo Gallinari was phenomenal for the Nuggets, scoring 17 points on for 5-of-6 shooting. Arron Afflalo and Timofey Mozgov were Denver next two leading scorers. They each had three points.
Free throw shooting has been huge for the Nuggets. Led by Gallinari (6-for-6 from the line), the Nuggets are currently 12-for-14 from the charity stripe.
New Jersey has been led by shooting guard Anthony Morrow, who has hit 3-of-5 three-pointers en route to 11 points so far. Star point guard Deron Williams has eight points.
