After tonight's 2011 NBA Mock Draft Lottery results are revealed, former Colorado Buffaloes guard Alec Burks should have a slightly better idea of where he will be drafted. Right now, his draft position is around picks 10-14, but workouts and interviews still remain.
DraftExpress' latest mock draft has Burks going to the Utah Jazz at No. 12. The Jazz could use a young player in the back court after trading Deron Williams at the trade deadline. NBADraft.net predicts Burks to the Milwaukee Bucks at No. 10, but depending on how the balls drop those teams may move in the draft order.
But Burks is ready to join Chauncey Billups as the only other Buffs player to be taken in the NBA lottery. Billups went No. 3 overall to the Boston Celtics in 1997 before moving to Toronto midway through the 97-98 season. David Harrison is the latest CU player to be drafted in the NBA, going No. 29 overall to the Indiana Pacers in 2004. He has been out of the league since the end of the 07-08 season.
