Kenyon Martin Got Away With One In Victory Over Jazz

As we saw in last night's Denver Nuggets victory over the Utah Jazz, Kenyon Martin made a bad inbounding pass that was stolen by Andrei Kirilenko, who missed the easy layup. But there was some muted controversy over those final 1.2 seconds. SLC Dunk, our Jazz blog, has the incriminating photo:

Yep, Kenyon Martin is clearly out of bounds and interfering with the ball. That's a no-no, but the play wasn't called dead. However, SBNation.com reports that the NBA has confirmed that the baseline official should have stopped play and allowed the Jazz an inbound pass from underneath the basket. That is, if Martin touched the ball, which evidence indicates is the case. With one last chance, the Jazz could have sent the game to overtime.
