In four games since they traded Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks, the Nuggets have won three of them. Forwards Danilo Gallinari and Wilson Chandler have already made immediate impacts and Raymond Felton has been a key contributor off the bench. Center Timofey Mozgov has yet to see any action, but Coach George Karl plans on having him on the court soon.
↵So, before doom and gloom forecasts permeate the air for the Denver Nuggets, let's see how everything plays out for the rest of the season. SB Nation's NBA Power Rankings have the Nuggets as the No. 8 team in the league right now, one spot ahead of the Oklahoma City Thunder. In the playoff standings, the roles are reversed. The Nuggets hold the fifth spot while the Thunder are the No. 4 team. The Thunder hold a 2.5-game lead on the Nuggets in the Northwest division.
↵The Western Conference teams that rank ahead of the Nuggets should come as no surprise. The San Antonio Spurs are the No. 1 team in the rankings and the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers check in at No. 4 and No. 5. They are, of course, the top three seeds in the Western Conference at the moment.
