In their first game since the Carmelo Anthony trade, the Denver Nuggets lead the Memphis Grizzlies, 61-42, at halftime. With the players acquired from New York not yet available, the Nuggets played with a short bench and had Ty Lawson and J.R. Smith starting in place of Chauncey Billups and "Melo.
Smith has team-highs with 13 points and six rebounds, while Lawson has added 12 points, pulled down three boards, dished out the ball four times and made three steals. Kenyon Martin also contributed four assists and three steals.
Chris Andersen, Gary Forbes and Al Harrington have all made appearances off the bench for the Nuggets. Melvin Ely has not entered the game yet.
Tony Allen leads the Grizzlies with 16 points and seven rebounds. O.J. Mayo, who at one point the Knicks wanted to work into a trade for 'Melo, has six points off the bench.
