Whether he loved or hated having Carmelo Anthony as a member of his team, George Karl has to be extremely relieved that the whole ordeal is finally over and he can begin to move forward with a team not steeped in rumor and innuendo (possible Danilo Gallinari moves not withstanding).
↵Now that the deal is done and the team is preparing to play it's first game without the superstar, Karl is speaking and he is sounding much more than relieved, he sounds excited. Vic Lombardi spoke with the coach this morning and asked him how he would replace 28 points per game, to which Karl replied:
↵↵↵You think I like the way we played with Melo?
↵We haven't been a play-hard team. I want to be faster with the basketball. Carmelo was never fast with the ball
↵
Well now, not holding anything back any longer are we? Karl also went on to mention that he thinks owner Josh Kroenke and general manager Masai Uriji hit a "home run" and that he wants to coach a team that is "willing to play the right way." He believes that the team can not only still make the playoffs, but that they can challenge for home court in the opening round.
↵What say you Nuggets fans? Can George Karl and the new Denver Nuggets pull this off?
