Nuggets Could Still Trade With Nets If Carmelo Anthony Goes To Knicks, According To Report

If the Denver Nuggets do wind up trading Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks, don't count out a separate trade between the Nuggets and the Nets. There are a few conditions in this report that originates from ESPN's Chris Broussard:

Sources say NJ in talks w/Den to send 2 1st round picks to Den for Mozgov & either Gallinari, Chandler or Felton, if Melo traded to NYK

Let's break this down. First, the Knicks and Nuggets make a trade that includes Timofey Mozgov, a sticking point between the two teams at the moment. Second, the Nets and Nuggets need to agree on who the second player going to Jersey would be. Gallinari appears to be the center piece of the trade as the Nuggets need to choose between him an Landry Fields. If it's Felton, that means the Nuggets would start Ty Lawson at the point and that the Nets would likely trade Devin Harris. Chandler is the only one of the three who appears to be likely trade chip.

No word yet on the specifics of the draft picks that would be moved.
