The shortest month of the year is upon us, but that doesn't mean that there is a lack of things to do at the Pepsi Center this month. So if you haven't thought of a gift for your special someone this Valentine's Day, might I recommend a ticket to one of these events happening in February at the Pepsi Center.
5. Monster Jam - Sunday, February 13
SUNDAY, SUNDAY, SUNDAY! Just in time for Valentine's Day, take your significant other to see the biggest, baddest cars and trucks around. The event is like none other, when The Can is turned from mild mannered sports venue to an ear throbbing, dirt infused monster truck course. Make sure that when your other half opens their present that alongside the tickets and roses you include a pair of ear plugs to prevent deafness.
4. CHSAA Hockey State Semi-Finals - Friday, February 25
See some of the best high school hockey in the country, when the semi-finals of the CHSAA hockey state tournament is held at the Pepsi Center. During the evening you'll have the chance to catch two games, with the teams vying to play in the championship game on March 4 back at the Pepsi Center. And who knows? Some of these kids might return to play on the same ice as pros.
3. Pittsburgh Penguins vs. Colorado Avalanche - Wednesday, February 16
Sidney Crosby is hopeful to return to the ice before this game. Suffering from a concussion, Sid The Kid hasn't played since early January, but is hopeful to be back before the Pens hit the Pepsi Center ice. If Crosby is back, don't miss the best player in the game.
2. CHSAA Wrestling State Tournament - Thursday, February 17 - Saturday, February 19
The top wrestlers in the state take to the mats during the CHSAA state wrestling tournament. The three days of grappling will culminate with the state finals on Saturday night. If you are a fan of amateur wrestling, there isn't a better three days locally for you than this stretch.
1. Boston Celtics vs. Denver Nuggets - Thursday, February 24
The best team in the East comes to Denver as part of their four game western swing. Anchored by the original "Big Three," the Celtics play fundamentally sound basketball and can beat you inside with Kevin Garnett, outside with Ray Allen, or anywhere on the court with Paul Pierce and Rajon Rondo. Who knows what the Nuggets team will look like a few days after the trade deadline, but regardless, the Celtics are a favorite to win the East, so it is worth watching.
