The Denver Nuggets can cross one name off the free agent list that they can't sign. Gary Forbes is close to signing a two-year contract with the Toronto Raptors, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. The deal also has a team option for a third year.
Forbes played as a rookie with the Denver Nuggets during the 2010-2011 season and offered some solid contributions throughout the season. He averaged 5.2 points in 12.6 minutes per game. He had a season-high 19 points, hitting on all three three-pointers he attempted, against the New York Knicks on Nov. 16. He also grabbed nine rebounds, tied for the most he had in a single game last season.
Forbes came from the University of Massachusetts, following Marcus Camby in the line of NBA players to come from the school.
