NBA Scores, Northwest Division: Kevin Durant Sinks 3 At Buzzer To Defeat Mavericks; Nuggets Lose 1st Game

The Northwest division is already shaping up to have a competitive battle.

The Oklahoma City Thunder stand tall atop the Northwest Division at 4-0, but it was a close call on Thursday night against the Dallas Mavericks. Down by one point with just seconds left to go, Kevin Durant hit the game-winning three-point shot against the Mavericks for the 104-102 victory. That shot gave Durant 30 points on the night to go with his 11 rebounds.

Durant and Dirk Nowitzki were matching each other point for point most of the night, the latter finishing with 29 points. However, the defending NBA champion Mavericks are now 0-3 with the loss, dropping earlier decision to the Miami Heat and the Denver Nuggets.

The Nuggets visited the Portland Trail Blazers to complete Thursday's slate of action for the Northwest division. The Trail Blazers picked up its third win in 111-102 victory over the Nuggets. For the Nuggets, it was their first loss of the season. Denver battled back throughout the entire game and even tied held a lead midway through the fourth quarter.
