Nuggets Vs. Mavericks Update: Denver Looking Impressive Against Defending Champion Dallas After Three Quarters

The Denver Nuggets have looked impressive in their 2011-2012 debut and led by as many 33 points in the third quarter. After three quarters, the Nuggets hold a 97-68 lead over the Dallas Mavericks.

Ty Lawson has continued to be the star of this game, now reaching 25 points in the game. Nene, he of the new five-year contract, has had a quiet game scoring with just eight points through three quarter, but he has pulled down seven boards. Danilo Gallinari is tied with Nene for the team-lead in rebounds, but he has added 15 points.

Greatly helping the Nuggets in this game has been the three-point shooting, hitting 10-of-22 shots, and sinking 17-of-18 free throws. Dallas' shooting, meanwhile, still hasn't improved. They have connected on 41 percent of shots while the Nuggets are at 54 percent.

It is certainly possible that we will see rookie Kenneth Faried make his NBA debut on Monday night.
