The Denver Nuggets continue to expand their lead against the Phoenix Suns on Sunday night as the two teams kick off a two-game preseason series before the NBA regular season kicks off soon. Denver now leads 97-81 after three quarters at the Pepsi Center.
Offense has carried the Nuggets so far tonight, as they've shot 52 percent from the field so far. Denver's backcourt has been absolutely huge tonight, as Ty Lawson and Andre Miller have really led the way. Lawson leads the Nuggets in scoring with 21 points and has 7 rebounds as well, while Miller has 12 assists, 6 rebounds and 4 steals in addition to his 8 points.
The Suns just haven't really gotten things going offensively so far. Marcin Gortat has 14 points on the night while Steve Nash, Jared Dudley and Shannon Brown have added 11 points apiece, but they're shooting just 43 percent from the field so far. Channing Frye has been a major drain on the offense, shooting just 1-for-8 from the field while missing all six of his three-point shot attempts.
